Small Town, Open Country
Tree Service in Reddick covers two kinds of properties. Inside the town limits, which take in only about 1.3 square miles, homes sit on traditional small-town lots with a few large shade trees each. Just outside, the land opens into pasture, hay fields and wooded tracts where a single property may have hundreds of trees along fence lines and drives. Elite Tree Service Ocala works on both, from a single oak over a porch in town to a full fence-line cleanup on acreage.
Fence lines and pasture edges
On rural land the trees that cause the most trouble are usually the ones along fences. Limbs and whole trees fall across wire and board fences after storms, and livestock can get out before anyone notices. Clearing a fence line typically means removing dead and leaning trees, cutting back limbs that hang over the fence by several feet, and grinding or cutting flush the stumps so mowers can get close. Doing it before storm season saves a lot of emergency fence repair later.
Shade trees and animals
Large oaks in pastures provide shade that animals rely on in summer, so we rarely recommend removing a healthy one. Instead, deadwood is removed, low limbs are raised so equipment can pass under, and weight is reduced on long limbs that could split. When a shade tree is dying, it is often better to remove it in a planned way, during cool weather, than to wait for it to drop limbs where animals stand.
A brief history
Reddick was platted and founded on June 8, 1882, the same year its post office opened, and was named for its first postmaster, John Reddick. It incorporated in 1925. The old Reddick High School grounds and auditorium are still a landmark in town, and the town drew attention in 2000 when the film Jeepers Creepers was shot there.
What we handle around Reddick
- Fence-line clearing on pasture and hay ground
- Deadwood removal and limb raising on pasture oaks
- Removal of dead pines and storm-damaged trees near barns and homes
- Driveway and lane clearing so trucks and trailers can pass
- Stump grinding or flush cutting after removals
Before storm season
For rural owners, the most useful single visit is often a walk of the whole property in spring. We note which trees threaten structures, fences or drives, and you get a written list ranked by priority so you can spread the work out if you want.
Barns, wells and outbuildings
Rural homes often have more structures under trees than town lots: barns, run-in sheds, well houses, workshops and equipment sheds. Pines and oaks that grew up beside those buildings decades ago may now overhang them completely. A falling limb that would only dent a lawn can collapse a pole barn roof or crush a well pump house. When we walk a Reddick property, we look at each outbuilding as carefully as the house, and the estimate lists the trees by what they threaten so you can decide what to do first.

Reddick Questions
A tree fell across my pasture fence. How fast can it be cleared?
Call (352) 320-5752 and describe the situation; we will tell you honestly when we can get there. In the meantime, move animals away from the gap. Once cleared, the fence can be repaired, and we can check nearby trees that might be next.
Is it better to remove a dying pasture oak or let it stand?
If it is far from fences, buildings and where animals gather, letting it stand for a while is an option. If animals shelter under it, removing it on a planned day is safer than waiting for a limb to drop.
Do you work on large acreage outside Reddick?
Yes. We work on rural parcels around Reddick, McIntosh, Citra and Anthony, including farms with long fence lines and wooded tracts.
Can stumps be cut flush instead of ground?
Yes. On pasture and fence lines, cutting flush is sometimes enough and costs less. Grinding is better where you plan to mow closely or replant.
Can you chip brush on site so I can use it as mulch?
Yes. Chips can be left in a pile wherever you want them on the property, which many rural owners use for paths, garden beds and around trees. Leaving chips on site also cuts down the hauling on the bill.
